Keeton was admitted into the hospital on Wednesday. He had trouble breathing Wednesday morning and Gerald had called 911. I am so thankful for Gerald's attentiveness and quick response that morning. They brought him into the ER and did some routine testing on Keeton. When they finished the initial testing the Doctor informed us that our son was in critical condition and they wanted to do additional testing. We were floored. They began meeting with us throughout the morning to go over his test results. Each time we met with a Doctor we found out more devastating information, we began to dread meeting with them because we didn't want anymore bad news. In a nutshell, they informed us that Keeton's brain had some swelling and there was some bleeding.
I can understand how families who are going through experiences like this can turn to despair. The first day we were here, I was in Keeton's room before he got back from his testing, standing at the window telling God that He has our attention. It was at that moment when we realized that this tragedy was far greater than us. As the day went on we were overwhelmed with God's presence. God strategically placed His people in our life that day to let us know that He was by our side and we were not alone. It was exactly what we needed to make it through that day.
Betsy and Gerald, We could not be more proud of you for the way you are trusting God through this experience...God will be and has been glorified! We will walk every step with you. We can't wait to hold and cuddle him again. We love you both, Mom and Dad
